| Do you ever look at the world
and wonder if it was meant to be this way? You love your family,
but they drive you crazy. At work, you're bored and frustrated
and angry with your colleagues, and your boss is insane. On
the TV news you see war and death and politics and poverty
and corruption. And you think: this is not the way it should
be. You start to wonder who you are and where you fit in.
You feel out of control. At that moment, you understand the
story of John Crichton. |
| |
John Crichton is an ordinary guy.
He's a smart guy, an
astronaut, but he's no hero. He screws up. He jokes
his way through life. He's got family and friends but
they're not real close. He's had relationships, but |
|
none of the women really mattered
much. What sets him aside from the others is that he has a
dream of outer space. So he's just a guy, but a guy who hopes
and dreams a little. As a scientist and an American, he
likes to think he's in control of his destiny. He's happy
with his life. And then, with one wrong turn, he loses everything.

Now imagine a woman, Aeryn Sun. A woman
born and bred to be a soldier in a distant culture where
human
values have no meaning. Born to fight. Bred to believe that
love and compassion get you killed. She's slept |
| around, but that was just recreation.
She doesn't know the word for the forbidden feelings that
creep into her soul. She just knows that if she follows
orders, everything will be fine. She's a good soldier. She
doesn't think of the future. She's happy with her life.
And then, with one wrong word, she loses everything. |
| |
| When an experiment goes wrong,
Crichton is thrown into a part of the universe which gives
new meaning to the word crazy, and discovers just how out-of-control
life can really be. He finds both allies and enemies. First
he learns to adapt, then he learns to survive, then he learns
to fight. It's a dysfunctional, though often beautiful universe,
where nothing is ever quite what it seems. Nobody's motives
are entirely pure, but Crichton finds friendship in unlikely
places. Most importantly, he finds Aeryn Sun, and a long,
dangerous dance begins towards a new future. |

| Farscape is a story of love and fear. It's a
story of hatred, violence and war, but also of compassion,
humor and loyalty. It's the story of an ordinary guy coming
to terms with an extraordinary universe, fighting to stay
in control of |
|
| his destiny, and despite everything,
holding on to his dreams. It's the
story of a woman losing her identity, and then finding that
she can be more. It's a story of imagination and hope. It's
a story of courage in the face of twisted and brutal fate,
and of refusing to accept that this
is the way things have to be.
